The river Le Gers
Originating in Lannemezan, the Gers flows through three départements and into the Garonne at Agen. Over 1.3 km of its length, it passes through the Domaine de l'Eglantière for all to enjoy.
There is no industrial pollution upstream on the Gers, making it a particularly pleasant area for fishing. Its gentle currents and meanders on its tree-lined banks are a treat for canoeists.
The little natural 'beaches' within the domaine allow young and old alike to paddle and have fun in the clear, refreshing water.
Activities involving the Gers
On the Gers, a category 1 watercourse (trout and gudgeon), anglers can enjoy fly fishing in the heart of l'Eglantière in a quiet wooded area. An introduction to fishing is given for children every week in high season: trout release, fishing and tasting (equipment provided; participation with fishing licence € 2).
L'Eglantière offers canoe rental (with helmets and life jackets) for a lovely stretch of the Gers, departing 2 or 3 times a day with a shuttle service to return to the camp site.
